A project to unite the very divided Town of Denton, Manchester. A fragmented sculpture, situated in a central park encourages the public to take the lightweight pieces apart and use them for whatever activities they saw fit. The dispersion of the structure in the town would create temporary landmarks and a unified identity for Denton. The form was inspired by a blur between nature and man-made form. Denton consists of both a vast golf course and a resevoire, which both appear natural on first glance, but on deeper inspection are made by man. The sculpture began as a cuboid but later chiseled and sliced in order to create a more ‘organic’ form.
