Scuba Park

Derived from the need to protect the existing corals that were translocated to the World Island’s breakwater from ‘deadly’ annual Shamal storms, the park structure and behavior is inspired by sea grass. The structure mimics its effect creating friction which slows down the under water currents before the reach the corals. Using the Biorock method, structures will accrete and connect with each other creating a catalog of differently arranged supports for coral growth and proliferation. These structures have two purposes; To create different environments for coral to grow and to generate in time a submarine park on the edges of the lagoon.
